Reminder: Justice for Patrick Rally

It’s time to show up!

The Grand Rapids Alliance’s Justice for Patrick rally kicks off tomorrow, April 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm outside the Kent County Courthouse!

We’ve got a stellar lineup of speakers for you including Kent County Commissioner Robert Womack; Andrica Cage, the mother of Samuel Sterling; Peter Lyoya, father of Patrick Lyoya; and Israel Siku, Lyoya family translator. You’ll also hear from the Grand Rapids Alliance and other community organizations!

We hope to see you there! Don’t forget to bring a sign demanding justice. We’ll have some available but supplies are limited.

Other Opportunities to Show Support

Can’t make the rally? That’s okay!

We’re encouraging community members to show up as their schedules allow throughout the trial. It could be a long one. Take a stand outside the courthouse or get there early and get a seat in the courtroom. The court generally opens and begins seating around 6:30 am.

This is not a call to disrupt court proceedings but an ask for the community to support the Lyoya family during this incredibly difficult time.
